Ask yourself what is really important

February 23, 20232 min read

Ask yourself what is really important, and then have the wisdom and courage to build your life around your answer.

I remember graduating from college, and people would ask me what type of job I wanted. I thought that was such an odd question.

I didn't quite understand that I could choose something based on my passions and interests. I just knew I needed to get a job and get paid some kind of way.

It was probably 15 years later, after working as an insurance adjuster because it paid well, that I realized working for the money was just not what it was cracked up to be. I hated my job.

I was stressed all the time. I would be juggling 200 different cases in any 30-day period.

I would wake up in the middle of the night and could not go back to sleep because I would remember a time-sensitive letter I had forgotten or something else that was due.

I finally left insurance adjusting, and from then on, I never got paid as well, but I got jobs that I enjoyed on some level.

It was not until I got into my mid-fifties that I began to understand the power of the statement in this meme.

It does take confidence and courage to build your life around what you truly love. I used Kemetic principles to really build myself within, my competence, and my confidence to gain the courage to build the life I wanted.
